How to play:
All participants regularly take turns in handing out. The dealing player deals five cards to each person and one card to the center of the table. The rest of the deck is a coupon, from which the players draw a leaf. A player who is on a turn may discard either a card of the same suit or a card of the same numerical value. If the player cannot or does not want to discard a card, he must take a card from the deck.
If the player drops the last card, he announces rain or mau-mau and thus ends the game. The other players count the point value of the cards left in their hand and assign themselves the appropriate number of penalty points. The winner is the player who has the least number of penalty points after playing a certain number of games (or after a set time).
Exceptional cards:
There are three cards in the game that affect the course of the game:
The top can be carried on any card (except sevens and aces), at the same time the player who brings out this card determines in which suit the game will continue.
If we play with a picket sheet, the boy has this function.
The seventh, if just dropped, forces the player whose turn it is to take two cards from the deck without discarding a card himself. However, if he also has a seven in his card, he can discard it and the following player must take four cards from the deck.
Ace - the player to the left of the player who dropped the ace can only beat it with another ace. If he doesn't have an ace, he can't discard any other card and doesn't draw any cards from the deck.
According to the international rules of mau-mau, figure eight has this function.
Variants of the game:
Sometimes only four cards are played.
It is played until the last player remains in the game (he has lost and deals cards for the next game), penalty points are not counted.
Sevens and aces cannot be overcharged.
The seven of hearts returns to the game - if the last two players remain in the game, one discards the last card (red or seven) and it is covered by the seven of hearts, the player must take two (or four) cards from the deck and continue the game.
Quick is played with eight cards and it is possible to drop cards of the same value at the same time (I can drop three eights on a heart in the order eight of hearts, eight of hearts, eight of green; it is not possible to throw down the eight of hearts or green eight first in order).
